Researchers from two life sciences groups wanted to explain model predictions on samples containing thousands of protein readings. QuadraSHAP uses Gauss-Legendre quadrature to calculate Shapley values up to floating-point precision. The feature reported speeds three to five times faster than the standard SHAP library on tree ensembles, with numerical stability on deep forests. The team plans to test extensions beyond trees and kernels, including recurrent architectures and biological applications.
